Servant Attitude

You are here: Home » Ministries » Servant Attitude

Water’s Edge is a place that focuses on training all people as missionaries of Jesus Christ. To that end, we encourage everyone to serve in their community and make a difference in the lives of the people they spend time with. Intentionally focus on being a missionary on the soccer field, at work, school and wherever you are.

There are many important ways to serve inside our church as well. Your help is needed to continue to make Water’s Edge a friendly and inviting place that is making an eternal difference in the lives of all the people who walk through our doors. Please contact to be part of one of these important service opportunities.

New Sanitizing Team

We are putting plans in place for when we are able to come back to worship together. Water’s Edge wants to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone when they come and worship. We are sanitizing our building multiple times a week but we are looking to add a new team that can be there between the early and late services to spray and wipe down the church (doors, chairs, etc.) to make it ready for the late service. Please contact Pastor Mark to inquire about being part of this new team. Gloves, training and safety precautions will be given to you.  Your help is needed. Please volunteer to join this team and serve once a month. Thank you.

Nursery Volunteers Needed

Has God put on your heart a desire to love and disciple children? A core attitude of Jesus Christ is that the training of the next generation is a holy priority and of utmost importance (Deut. 6:6-8).

We are currently recruiting more volunteers to serve once a month and to help make an eternal difference in the lives of our little ones, ages 3-36 months. We will train you and set you up for success. This is a rewarding opportunity for all who serve. Please contact our Nursery Coordinator, and let her know you are interested in hearing more.

You are needed and you can impact the faith of our children now so when they are older they will not turn from it.

Children’s DTX Teachers and Helpers Needed

Has God put on your heart a desire to love and disciple children? A core attitude of Jesus Christ is that the training of the next generation is a holy priority and of utmost importance (Deut. 6:6-8). We invest heavily in our children at Water’s Edge. DTX is our Sunday morning children’s discipleship training experience.

We are currently recruiting more teachers and helpers to serve once a month and to help make an eternal difference in the lives of our preschoolers through 5th graders. We will train you and set you up for success. This is a rewarding opportunity for all who serve as well as an important time for our students.

Please contact our Children’s DTX coordinator and let her know you are interested in hearing more. We will be doing training this summer to be ready to teach our children with excellence again next fall. You are needed and you can impact the faith of our children now so when they are older they will not turn from it.

Audio/Visual Tech Team

Volunteers are needed to serve approximately once a month running the slides during Sunday Worship. We also need people with some sound experience to run the sound board and people with computer skills are needed to help edit the sermons and post them on line.  It is a real joy to be part of the Sunday morning Worship team. Please contact Pastor Anthony to serve in this ministry.

Meal Team

The meal ministry could not be more fun— Just cook for your own family, and then make a little extra to lend a hand to a family who has just had a baby, illness, or hospitalization. To join this ministry team, please contact Angela Grassmuck.

Care Team

We are all called to care for the people God has put in our lives. We also have a Care Team that helps the pastors and staff make visits and phone calls to people in all sorts of situations. Has God given you the gifts to care for people? This care team goes through ongoing training and support. To join this ministry team, please contact Lisa Schaefer.

Host Team

Water’s Edge is a very friendly and welcoming place. You could be someone who serves on our host team. You get to greet people, take care of their needs, answer any questions and make them feel welcome and comfortable. Host team members serve once every 5 weeks. You are needed and you can make a difference in people coming to know Christ. Contact Pastor Mark to be part of this fun and needed ministry.

Coffee Team

Water’s Edge is known for its coffee and donuts. Really. You could be someone who serves once a month during one of our Sunday morning services and helps host and mange the coffee and donut area that day. This is a fun job and it is important and makes people feel at home. Contact Pastor Mark to be part of this great ministry.

Prayer Requests & Prayer Team

Prayer is powerful and it is a gift that God has given us to praise Him and to lay the requests of our heart before Him. If you have a prayer request, contact our prayer team captain.

Would you like to be a part of our prayer team? Here’s how it works: When a prayer request is received, we e-mail the request to you and other team members. All we ask is that you commit to pray for each intercession. Please send an email with your name, phone number, and email address and confirm you want to be added to the Waters Edge Prayer Team or let us know you want more information. We look forward to hearing from you!

Online Giving

Many of you have asked if our church offers an electronic, or automated, option for giving. Now we do! Easy and simple for you, Electronic Giving allows your weekly or monthly contributions to be transferred electronically from your checking or savings account or your credit card directly to the church account. While away on vacation, you have peace of mind knowing that your pledge has been received and is contributing to the Eternity Matters Most minded ministry of our church, especially during those otherwise low cash flow months of the year! One simple and easy to use authorization form can begin or change your electronic contribution amount. The authorization form is available by contacting the church office or visit our website to safely and easily set up your giving. You also can make one-time donations online. If you need assistance or have questions, please contact the church office.

Stay Connected

Have you changed your contact info? Have you moved into a new home? We want to get accurate information on all who God is calling to be on mission with us. Please fill out a friendship card on our welcome table at church, or update your info online. We value your trust and privacy, and pledge that your info will never be shared with anyone other than the staff of Water’s Edge.
