Speaker Dr. Scott Keith
Dr. Scott Keith is Director of Operations and Scholarship for 1517 The Legacy Project, Adjunct Professor of Theology at Concordia University, Irvine. He is a Contributor to The Jagged Word, 1517 The Legacy Project and Christ Hold Fast. He is also the cohost of The Thinking Fellows podcast. He earned his doctorate from Foundation House Oxford, under the sponsorship of the Graduate Theological Foundation, studying under Dr. James A. Nestingen. Dr. Keith’s research focused on the doctrine of good works in the writings of Philip Melanchthon. His recent book, “Being Dad: Father as a Picture of God’s Grace”, explains how the graciousness and forgiveness that a good father pronounces in the home serves as a picture of God’s grace to prodigals everywhere. He is married to his wife Joy for over twenty years, has three children and one grandchild, and one more to come this autumn 2017.
Being Dad Lectures
Dr. Keith’s talks will deal with the way fathers and men, and the subject of fatherhood and masculinity, are treated in modern culture. Dr. Keith brings his experience with family, students, great mentors and friends to bear on this subject which is crying out for attention. Equally, he brings his Christian faith, a scholarly eye for detail, an ear for story along on the journey and he works with the reader to navigate a path to a better country where the Father blesses His children and is honored. But, most of all he points to Christ and how he loves his creation, and how his model of masculinity and grace is a perfect lens in which we can orient ourselves in this modern culture.
