Mental health is a topic that is at the forefront of many young adults minds these days. With the rising rates of anxiety, depression and suicide how can young adults learn to take care of their mental health? And does spirituality play any role in our mental health?
The Garden invites you to join a discussion around these topics. The night will begin with a presentation on mental health and spirituality by licensed psychologist Dr. Peter Kahle. There will then be a time of group discussion followed by a time for Q&A with Dr. Kahle. All beliefs, thoughts and opinions are welcomed! If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Life is crazy busy, and we can all benefit from intentional times where we get away from our daily routines to reconnect with Jesus and each other. Our annual retreat is designed to do just that! We invite you to carve a weekend out of your schedule to get away and recharge. We will be focusing on how we can continue to create space in our daily lives that helps us to grow in our relationship with Jesus. This will all be done in the context of community through discussions, games and rest.

What is “The Garden”?
The Garden is a community for young adults that is designed to be a safe place for people of all beliefs, backgrounds, and world-views.
This group is designed to be a place where young adults will come and grow together. It is a safe place that brings an atmosphere of trust and community. We believe that Christ set a perfect example for how we are supposed to live our lives aligned with Him. One example comes from Matthew 26:38-42. Jesus, in a moment of extreme distress, goes to His Father and cries for help. We can follow his example and bring all of our struggles to Him.
Our name is a reminder that even Jesus, our Savior, had moments of breaking down and crying out. Even Jesus needed the love and strength of His father. “The Garden” shows us that we can cry out to God as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane.
The Garden is a safe place to cry out and realize we are crying to a God who is bigger than this world. The Garden is place where people can be built up and grow, not only with each other, but with our heavenly Father. The Garden is a place that focuses on the Bible and the unconditional love of Jesus. The Garden is a place where everyone can grow in their understanding of who God is and that he has designed us to radically spread the love of Jesus Christ to all.
Join us for any of our gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, Worship times or fun events. The Garden meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. at Water’s Edge.
Please contact Matt Schaefer at 214-842-7050 to be included in our text alerts or call with any questions or if you just need someone to talk to.
